Finding the exact information you need should be effortless. Klipy's global search bar is your command center for instant navigation, allowing you to jump to any record in your Rolodex in seconds.

Accessing the Global Search Bar

The search bar is designed to be accessible from anywhere within the Klipy application. You have two simple ways to open it:

  1. Keyboard Shortcut (Recommended): The fastest way to launch search is with the keyboard shortcut:

    • On Mac: Cmd + K

    • On Windows/Linux: Ctrl + K

  2. Clicking the Search Bar: You can also click the "Search Klipy" bar, typically located in the header of the application.

This will open a modal window titled "Type a command or search...".

What You Can Search For

The global search is incredibly powerful and looks across the most important records in your workspace. As you type your query, Klipy will instantly search for matching:

  • Contacts: Find people by their Name or Email Address.

  • Companies: Find organizations by their Company Name.

  • Deals: Find sales opportunities by their Deal Name.

Klipy also searches the Company Name associated with your contacts, so typing the name of a company will show you both the company record itself and the people you know who work there.

Navigating Search Results

As you type, Klipy displays results in real-time, neatly categorized for clarity (e.g., "People," "Companies").

  1. Type your search term (e.g., "Tina Law," "Acme Corp").

  2. Use the Up (↑) and Down (↓) arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the correct result.

  3. Press Enter to immediately navigate to that record's page.

The entire process is designed to be completed in a few keystrokes, keeping you in the flow of your work without needing to click through multiple pages.

Note on Other Commands:
You'll notice the search modal also contains quick links for "Navigation" (e.g., People, Companies) and "Support." While its primary function is search, this command center also serves as a master shortcut for getting around the app and finding help when you need it.
