This guide provides the exact steps to securely connect your Microsoft 365 account to Klipy.
The entire process uses Microsoft's own official authentication system, which means your password is never shared with us, and you remain in full control.
Which Microsoft Accounts Are Supported?
The "Connect Microsoft 365" option is the correct choice for a wide range of modern, cloud-based Microsoft email services. This single connection method works for:
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365): The primary business and enterprise cloud suite.
Company Outlook Accounts: Any work or school email account that runs on Microsoft's cloud infrastructure (often called Exchange Online).
Exchange Online: The cloud-based hosting service for business email.
Personal Microsoft Accounts: This includes email addresses ending in
@outlook.com
,@hotmail.com
,@live.com
, and@msn.com
.
Essentially, if your email account is from Microsoft, this is the right guide for you.
Before You Begin
For a smooth connection process, please check these two things first:
Check Pop-up Blockers: The Microsoft sign-in process opens in a new pop-up window. Please ensure your browser's pop-up blocker is temporarily disabled for Klipy, as it will prevent the authentication window from opening.
Note for Corporate Users: If you are using a Microsoft 365 account managed by your company, you may need your IT administrator to grant consent for Klipy as a trusted application. If the connection fails with an "approval required" error, please contact your IT department for assistance.
The Connection Process
Follow these steps to get your account connected.
Step 1: Start the Connection
Your starting point depends on whether you are a new or existing user.
If you are setting up your account for the first time, you will be prompted to connect your workspace as a key step in your onboarding, right after the paywall.
If you are an existing user, navigate to Settings in the main menu and then select Managed Emails.
Step 2: Initiate the Microsoft Connection
On the integrations screen, find the Microsoft 365 entry and click the Connect button.
Step 3: Sign in to Your Microsoft Account
A new, secure pop-up window from Microsoft will appear. This is Microsoft's official sign-in screen.
Enter your credentials and select the account you wish to connect. Be sure to select your primary work account that you use for business emails and meetings.
Step 4: Grant Permissions
Microsoft will now show a list of permissions Klipy is requesting.
Important: Klipy requires all requested permissions to function correctly. If you do not consent to all permissions, the connection will fail. These permissions are what allow Klipy to act as your AI Secretary by analyzing your email and calendar to find action items and prepare you for meetings.
Click the Accept button to proceed.
Step 5: Confirmation
The pop-up window will close, and you will be returned to the Klipy interface, confirming the connection is being established.
Connection Successful! What Happens Next?
The experience you see next depends on where you started the process.
If you are in Onboarding...
You will now experience some onboarding magic! Klipy will immediately begin analyzing your recent emails and calendar events to provide a first look at its capabilities, such as identifying key contacts or suggesting follow-ups for outstanding tasks.
If you connected from Settings...
You will see a confirmation message, and the Microsoft 365 integration on the Managed Emails page will now show a 'Connected' status.
Troubleshooting
Having an issue? Here are solutions to the most common problems.
The pop-up window didn't appear.
Your browser is likely blocking it. Please disable your pop-up blocker for the Klipy website and try clicking Connect again.
The connection failed after the permissions screen.
This almost always happens because not all permissions were granted. You must click "Accept" on the Microsoft screen to grant the required permissions. Please try the connection process again.
You see an "Approval Required" or "Admin Consent Required" error.
This means your company's IT policy requires an administrator to approve third-party apps. Please contact your IT department and ask them to grant consent for Klipy in your organization's Microsoft 365 tenant.
You connected the wrong Microsoft account.
No problem, and don't worry, you will not be billed for making a change. Your subscription includes a "connection slot" for your primary workspace.
When you disconnect an account, you are simply freeing up this slot. Connecting a new one uses the same slot, so there is no additional cost involved.
Simply navigate to Settings > Managed Emails, click the 'Disconnect' button on the Microsoft 365 integration card, and then repeat the steps in this guide to connect the correct account.
